Offer a dark and dramatic home for your greenery with the Portal Vase (2019) by designer Christian Haas and craftsman António Marques. This oversized vessel is hand pressed by skilled artisans using a special technique of form-making where every piece is unique. Using the ancient Portuguese art of Barro Preto, the vase is buried and fired in a subterranean pit, resulting in a dark finish that’s a mix of black, grey, and earth tones. Because the finish reflects very little light, the vase creates the illusion of a black portal. Please note: Due to the Barro Preto material and handcrafted process, the vases may have different shading and color variations. While the product has been carefully hand lacquered after firing by the craftsperson, it may not be 100% waterproof. Made in Portugal.
